History
The bank has always taken a dynamic approach with strong shareholder structures. The following is a brief overview of our history.
M&A Bank AG was established by Zentralsparkasse und Kommerzialbank AG (now Bank Austria UniCredit Group) under the direction of the then-acting managing director René Alfons Haiden in 1989.
Business focused on completing and assisting with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and on corporate finance projects. Mr. Haiden still serves the bank as the chairman of the Supervisory Board.
In 2000, the bank was taken over by a group of Austrian industrialists and its name was changed to M&A PrivatBank AG. The bank remained very active in the areas of mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate finance, and also began offering asset management and consulting for private clients.
In 2009, AVMA Beteiligungs GmbH took over M&A PrivatBank AG. It thus became part of the ALIZEE Group, which combines the know-how of specialists in the areas of financial mathematics, risk management, asset management and real estate investment.
As part of this transaction, the name of the bank was changed to ALIZEE Bank AG.
